TimeOut: We Have Favor 🦁
I still haven’t taken down my Christmas stuff. 🎄
Hey there. I just looked in the background of this video and saw my tree is still up. Shame on me. But I’ve been busy! I am definitely done with Stay Lit, and I’m super excited about that coming out soon.
But the thing I want to talk about today is Favor.
I think it’s amazing to know that we have God’s favor. In other words, He’s on our side. We have grace from Him and extra coverage. Favor is an awesome thing. But it is also something that cannot be abused.
Don’t Abuse the Benefit
I don’t believe God is going to let you abuse His favor. When we take advantage of the benefits God gives us without “paying in” what we’re supposed to—without giving back—we reap that back.
God doesn’t need your praise. He is independently okay without all of us. But He wants it. He desires it. And He deserves it.
What You Focus On Expands
Instead of being self-absorbed and thinking, “How do I fix this?” I want you to appreciate what God has done. He says He will pour out blessings you can’t contain if you give to other people.
I know things happen in life that are difficult. It is hard not to be consumed by overwhelming circumstances. But that is the discipline.
“What you focus on expands. What you focus on expands. How many times have you heard me say that? A lot. So focus on what’s good.”
Focus on the God you serve and how powerful He is. Remember that you have favor.
