TimeOut: The Audiobook 🎙️
Hi there! I am feeling a little overwhelmed today because I’m about to start recording the audiobook for the new book.
You’ll read about this in Stay Lit, but recording an audiobook is not an easy or fun thing for me. I am not a good reader, and I really don’t like reading out loud. But the book is complete, it’s at the formatter, and within about three weeks, it will be on 1 million prison tablets, with printed copies following shortly after.
The reason I have so many readers in prison is actually because of the audiobook. There are a lot of inmates who speak Spanish but don’t read English, and they can understand the message better when I am speaking it. There are also people who simply struggle to read, or they don’t comprehend well when they read, or they just plain don’t like reading. I don’t like reading either, so I get it!
That’s why I understand when the Holy Spirit tells me, “Hey, you’ve got to get this book done.” It honestly doesn’t matter how hard it is or how weird I think I sound. The words in this book are life-changing because they are the truth of God. Making this recording is a sacrifice I have to pay to get this message to the people who need it most.
