“Rape is never okay. If you have been manipulated, violated, or abused, you must drop the lie you have been carrying: it is not your fault.”

The Trench Reality:

Rape Is Not Okay

Predators who commit these acts are driven by a vicious deviance that operates exactly like a drug—they constantly demand more violence and more control, a cycle that often stems from the unaddressed wreckage of their own past. I was raped. At the time, I was flirting, wearing short shorts, sitting on his lap, and doing his drugs—but he still had absolutely zero right to force himself on me. Even if a boundary is changed at the final second, it must be respected, and he broke that standard.

Victims routinely absorb the blame and take the responsibility for the attack, but that burden does not belong to you. However, taking your freedom back demands a brutal spiritual discipline: you have to forgive them. You do not extend forgiveness because they earned it or deserve it. You execute forgiveness because you refuse to let an abuser occupy your perimeter or hold power over your life for another second.

Holding onto toxic resentment means you are choosing to let that person dictate your current reality. God’s grace is the Source that empowers us to drop the weight. I am 11 years clean because I chose to stand on objective truth instead of running away from the front lines when things got heavy. Execute the discipline, clear the line, and take your freedom back.
