What’s happening at the flea market? If you follow me on social media or know me personally, you know that I get up at like, 04:00 a.m. In the morning every morning. But on Friday and Saturday, I go to the Flamingo Island flea market. My son has a booth there.
This is what’s happening at the flea market this week. Aren’t these cute? I love it. It’s easy. $5 sticking your hair when it’s wet.
My hair is wet, and I don’t have to do anything to it. I’m not saying I look like some movie star, but it’s cute and it’s very affordable and very easy. But this is is not a sales video. My son buy stores that are going out of business and get inventory from from people and is able to sell that at a very, very cheap price. The name of the booth is Booth Blue 36, and the name of the booth is wheeling and dealing.
My son is by trade a mover, and he’s licensed insured. And if you need a move, he’s good for that. Anyway, the reason I’m telling you all this is because at first I thought, I don’t want to drive an hour and 45 minutes. I have to be there at eight, so I have to leave here at 06:00 a.m. To get there in time to open the flea market and be there Friday and Saturday.
Those are days off, right? No, not for me. I thought, oh, my gosh, I don’t want to do this. It wasn’t. My son was going, hey, I need you.
I need you. I need you. I felt the Lord going, look, you need to do this. You need to do this. And what God has done has been just amazing.
I feel like my relationship with my son has grown and I’m there for him. He can count on me. And there were many, many years that he couldn’t count on me for anything. And so whether he recognizes it or not, or even if I’m not seeing it, I know that God is healing something in that relationship due to the fact that I’m available to him. Like I’ve probably never been available to him.
And so that is for me personally, the most beautiful thing that’s happening there. But he’s given me a space. And so I have a desk and I have my chair and I have my books. And so in addition to telling people about all the fabulous things that Jordan has at the flea market, I’m also able to give away books. That’s what my Ministry does.
It gives away books because many people who need help are in jails and prisons and rehabs and aren’t able to purchase books there. But not only that, I’m not trying to get rich in payment. I’m trying to get the message of hope to the people that need it. There is hope in the pages of my book.
There’s hope, because if I can be different. So can you. If there’s a new way of life for me that’s available and I can be forgiven of all the crap I’ve done, so can you. And so can anybody else. So the discouragement that comes from having a child on drugs or a husband that’s unfaithful or an overspender for a wife or I don’t know, people that are trapped in anger or envy or greed.
All of those things can be healed by the power of Jesus Christ. If it happened for me, it can happen for you. And that’s what this book is telling people. And so to be able to go there and give books away is an awesome thing. You know, I used to give away at Walmart and everywhere I went.
And now I just have people walking right through and I say, Hi, are you a reader? And if they say yes, they get a book and I’ve got new sponsors. I’ve gotten new speaking venues. I’ve gotten lots of things have come to life. I have people that I’m now mentoring who have been sober for months or even years and need somebody to talk to every once in a while.
So I’ve picked up new people to Council new parents to go. No, don’t do that. That’s not a good idea. Just all kinds of things that God is brought to life. He’s brought those things to life because I was obedient to do what he said, no matter how uncomfortable it feels and are inconvenient.
It is because it isn’t about convenience. It isn’t about doing things my way or what looks or sounds or feels good to me. It’s about what has God called me to do? And am I going to do it regardless of the cost? That’s how I read the benefits of the plan and the purpose that God has for me.
And walking in my purpose gives me fulfillment gives me hope, gives me peace, gives me all the things that God has promised me. And so I love going to the foot market. I can’t wait till Friday when I can’t go. I’m like, oh, my gosh.
I have to speak this weekend. I’m not going to be able to be there. I didn’t feel like I would feel that way at first, but I do. Now listen, if you’re in Bonita Springs or anywhere near come by the flea market, it’s worth your time as far as the shopping experience is concerned, but also just the excitement and the vision and purpose that God has birthed in me. If you want to meet me, get a free signed copy of my book or just chat about something that’s going on with you.
Come on. By Flamingo Island Flea Market Booth Blue 36, Wheeling and Dealing Friday and Saturday. See you there.
