The Trench Reality:
Grace Without Codependency
It is easy to feel anger, frustration, or even hatred when people around you make foolish or hurtful decisions that make zero sense. But when I was trapped in addiction, people had grace for me and loved me anyway while God worked on my heart. God requires us to extend that same grace to others, knowing that only He can change a person’s life.
God’s plan works, and you do not get where you are going unless you continue. I am celebrating 11 years clean because people stood on objective truth and trusted God with my process.
The Command: Extend grace and love people anyway. Do not become codependent or allow yourself to be abused by their wrong choices, but stop expecting them to fix themselves. Trust God to bring them to where they need to be.
