You’re Lying Down for a Lie. Fight Back.
I have to be honest with you all. Stop getting robbed. Stop getting robbed. Sometimes I wonder if people really recognize what being a citizen of the kingdom of heaven is. That’s who we are. If you belong to Christ, you’re a citizen of the kingdom of heaven. You’re no longer ruled by the earth. (Doesn’t mean you can run and rip and do whatever you want and not obey the law. The word of God tells us clearly we have to obey the law of the land.)
But the point is you have freedom. You have life. You have favor. You have blessings. You have everything you need for life and godliness. That’s what the word of God says. Listen, if we’re not going to listen to the word of God, apply the word of God, get the results of the word of God, why are we in this? What are you doing this for? Just to say you’re a Christian? I don’t know. I just don’t get the point of that. It isn’t even really cool to be a Christian. So, there’s no point in not behaving like Christ if you call yourself a Christ follower.
Here’s The Truth: The Gun Ain’t Real.
You’re getting robbed of the pros of being a Christian, the good stuff of serving God. He has a beautiful, awesome life planned and prepared for you that you can just walk right into. Does it mean there’s no struggle? No. Does it mean there’s no difficulty? No. It just means you have everything you need to maintain through that.
I always tell the guys when I go into prison, it’s like they busted up in your house with a big old machine gun that was plastic. You knew the gun wasn’t real ‘cuz you could tell that it was fake. And they went, “Lay down, right?” And you laid down. And you’re laying down. And they’re taking all your stuff. The enemy is a liar. You are getting robbed because you are worried about the religious rules and not the relationship with God part.
What This Means For You: Stand Up. Fight Back.
Stop staying there, just laying down, and letting them take your stuff. The gun ain’t real, and we win the battle. I’m saying to you, stand up! Stand up! Stand up in the power of who you are, who you’re meant to be. Be who God called you to be. You have everything you need to maintain through any struggle.
