TimeOut: Sit Down or Lie Down 🦁

🔥 BOOK UPDATE: I have some exciting news! I am definitely done with Stay Lit. I am super excited about it and hoping it will be on the market by the end of January or February at the latest.

God doesn’t take “No” for an answer.

You know what I’ve been noticing in this latest season of my life? God really doesn’t take “no” for an answer from His people.

He will just keep presenting you with the same option over and over again. He asks, “Do you want to do it My way, or do you want to do it your way?” And when we choose our way, He gently says, “Eh, that wasn’t such a good idea.”

He is kind, loving, and patient. But when it comes right down to the wire, here is the reality:

“It’s either sit down and be quiet, or you’re going to end up laying down.”

Trust is an Action Word

I’m trying to make myself the kind of person who hears from God and opts to listen right away—as opposed to thinking I have a better plan.

We naturally want to calculate: “If I do this and this, then that will happen.” It is a calculation our brains automatically come up with. But everything God does is opposite of the human calculation.

Trust is an action word. It requires us to say, “This goes against everything that makes sense, but I’m sure I’m hearing from the Lord, so I’m going to obey.”

It’s a Better Option

There are so many voices—society, social media, family—but often, the biggest distraction is our own heart trying to do what we think is best.

Listen, the world is screaming a million miles an hour with every other alternative. But if we obey the Lord, we get to see the good results. Every time I do it, I think, “Man, why didn’t I do this much earlier?”

Go over your past. Think of the things God has escorted you through. And be confident when you say, “Okay Lord, let’s do it Your way.”

Love you guys,
– Texas 🦁
