TimeOut:
It’s Okay to Cry 😢
Use crying as a way to call out to God. You matter to Him, and He wants you to interact with Him. 🙏
Let’s get one thing straight: it’s okay to cry. And learning how to use your tears to connect with God can make a radical difference in your life.
Somewhere along the way, we got the idea that we have to bottle it all up. That being strong means being stone-faced when life is crushing us. That’s a lie. Crying isn’t just some emotional breakdown; it’s a neurological and physical process your body needs. But it can be so much more than that.
Your tears can be a prayer.
There’s a huge difference between crying because you feel sorry for yourself and crying out to God. When you are at the end of your rope—when you’re hurting, desperate, and feel completely hopeless—that is the perfect time to let it out.
That’s when you turn to God and let the tears become the prayer. It’s that raw, guttural cry that says everything you can’t fully put into words: that you’re hurting, that you’re desperate, that it all feels hopeless and you just need Him to show up and be there for you.
Dive Deeper into Your True Self:
You matter to Him. He isn’t waiting for you to get it all together. He wants you to interact with Him right where you are, in the middle of the mess. And when you do that, something radical happens.
All of a sudden, in the middle of that seemingly hopeless circumstance, comfort starts coming in. Healing follows. Joy isn’t far behind. Every single thing you need starts to show up because that’s who God is when we finally cry out to Him.
So, stop holding it in. Give yourself permission to feel. Let your tears become the most honest and powerful prayer you can offer.
